New Paltz Addition
Situated on a beautiful ridge overlooking Mohonk Mountain in upstate New York, the existing modular home was poorly sited – oriented towards neighbors rather than the spectacular view. The ranch-style structure dated from the 1970s and urgently needed an upgrade and enlargement to accommodate the needs of an active family. Notched into the hillside, the basement-level garage often filled with rainwater, windows were drafty, walls poorly insulated, and living spaces were small and dim.
The Owners sought to expand their home and reduce their carbon footprint. They desired a large, open living area with access to the marvelous views, a dry garage convenient to the main living level, and a comfortable master suite with privacy from guest areas.
